UPC » UPC news – the Milan section opens its doors

As of today (27 June 2024) the Milan section of the central division of the Unified Patent Court (UPC) has officially opened its doors.

The Milan section joins Paris and Munich in the central division of the UPC. Cases before the central division will be split between the three locations as per Annex II of the UPCA, as amended by Article 1 paragraph 2 of the Decision of the Administrative Committee (dated 26 June 2023). The Milan section will hear cases pertaining to IPC class A (Human Necessities) without Supplementary Protection Certificates.

The Milan section will be presided over by Mr Andrea Postiglione, with judges Ms Anna-Lena Klein and Ms Marije Knijff.
