After an inspiring careers talk in my first year of university, I completed a short internship at a patent firm where I learnt more about the job and explore each area of the world of IP. Having the opportunity to work on a range of different cases and to see the breadth and variation of work a patent attorney comes across each day, aligned with my want to be on the front lines of scientific innovation and cemented my desire to continue to pursue a career in patent law.
As a patent trainee, I most enjoy being exposed to so much science in my everyday work. Its fascinating to be able to read about each modern invention which comes across my desk daily and delve into the ins and outs of each new idea.
Before joining Boult, I graduated with a MSci in Natural Sciences, specialising in Nanotechnology at the University of York.
Throughout my last year at York, I worked on the university’s nanotechnology team, where I used an electron microscope to image and further develop a range magnetic nanoparticles for use in hyperthermia cancer treatments.
