News » International Women’s Day – sporting achievements at Boult

Here at Boult, we champion women and their achievements.

This Sunday 8 March is International Women’s Day. In the lead up to the day, we wanted to highlight some of the amazing recent sporting achievements of women at Boult.

The opportunities open to women in sport have not always been readily available. For example, it was only in 1972 in the USA and 1975 in the UK that women were allowed to take part in official marathons. In the case of football, the FA overturned a ban on women’s football at professional venues in 1971. The first Women’s Football World Cup was held in 1991 with the Women’s Premier League was launched a year later in 1992. The league was later revitalised into the Women’s Super League in 2011 (although the league wouldn’t be fully professional until seven years later).

Sporting events completed by women in our team, undertaken while managing busy careers and in aid of some great charitable causes, include:

  • Nina White, Partner and Lizzie Alexander, Patent Attorney, completed the London to Brighton Bike Ride in September 2024.
  • Olga Bohuszewicz, Patent Attorney ran the 10km Richmond Park Race in September 2024, while Michelle Pratt, Partner, completed the 5km Race at the same event.
  • A strong team of Boult employees featuring Jade Watt, Patent Attorney; Angela Stephen, Patent Attorney; Kate Kozka, Billing Operations Analyst;  and Amy Giffard, Secretary; completed the Vitality 10,000 for Alzheimer’s Society on 22 September 2024.
  • Sarah Russell, Financial Controller recently completed the (very cold!) London Winter Run around the city of London in February 2025.
  • Tracey Grenville, EP Validations Manager recently completed Deka Mile and Deka Strong events in October and March, a HYROX-style challenge combining running and functional fitness in a modern-day decathlon format. After completing her first HYROX in December, Tracey is hoping to get a PB at her next competition in May.
  • Finally, Heidi Barley, Credit Control Assistant, completed the London Marathon in April 2024 and 2023.
