I head up Boult’s Legal Administration Group. My team and I assist all the patent groups in administrative practice areas such as coordinating worldwide patent and design filing programs.
My own paralegal practice specialises in handling patent and design recordal matters in the UK, Europe, and internationally. Whether it be a simple change of name/address, drafting an assignment document for transferring ownership, or more complex transactions such as recording rights in rem, I relish the opportunity to work with our clients and stakeholders to ensure that the process is handled as smoothly as possible from beginning to end. Identifying and ironing out any potential challenges long as early as possible gives me a real sense of satisfaction.
In addition, I have extensive experience in administrative procedures relating to filing UK, EP and PCT patent applications, UK designs, and regularly assist with end-to-end design portfolio management.
My journey in intellectual property law began at Boult as a Secretary in our trade marks team. I then moved to our engineering and designs group, and it was soon clear that patents were my calling! Whether it be an entrepreneur inventing in their home or a global entity developing medical devices, being an integral part of the team supporting our clients, and seeing their inventions come to market and enhance the world’s landscape, is something that I find highly gratifying. Boult supported my desire to collaborate with our clients and build on our premium service offerings and so the Legal Administration Group was formed.
Throughout my career at Boult, I have stayed committed to and passionate about ensuring that the intellectual property field continues to be a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming workplace. Internally, I contribute to various arms of our responsible business initiatives. Externally, I have spoken at a joint schools’ initiative about the various IP career paths open to everyone, mentored a European client as they undertook the CIPA Introductory Patent Paralegal course and provided support with administrative work within a voluntary group for an international IP association.
