My career in HR has predominately taken place within professional services and the legal sector in particular. I joined Boult as HR Manager, before progressing to HR Director.
My work with Boult is incredibly varied, from overseeing day-to-day HR requirements for the firm, to recruitment, training and development, to leading on wellbeing, diversity and inclusion. I particularly enjoy the recruitment aspects of the role. Meeting new people, from different backgrounds, with hugely varying interests and discovering how they might fit in with our firm and culture has always been a really satisfying part of my role.
I also have a keen interest in the wellbeing, diversity and inclusion programmes we run here at Boult as part of our responsible business strategy. I took up the Head of Wellbeing title at the firm when it was created. Outside of work, I am a qualified counsellor/psychotherapist and hold a Masters in Psychology, and this, combined with the crossover with HR, made the role a natural fit. Much of our wellbeing approach crystalised during the Covid lockdown and maintaining a balance between our excellent culture and the flexibility of hybrid working has really driven our programme so far.
I expect the development of our wellbeing programme at Boult to be a continuing focus for my team and the wider partnership in the future. We are finalising a formal wellbeing strategy to bring together everything we have been, and will be, doing under one policy.
