As of May 1 2017 Claire Baldock will step down from her role as Senior Partner after three highly successful years in the position. Claire will remain a consultant, continuing to act for Boult Wade Tennant and will retain her roles on the AIPPI Standing Committee for Biotechnology and Plant Sciences and the AIPPI Council for the UK group.
The firm has elected Nick McLeish as new Senior Partner, an appointment that is set to co-inside with the firm’s international expansion. Having opened an office in the heart of Munich last year, Boult Wade Tennant took a major step in driving growth and developing the firm’s position in the EU. This auspicious new era promises to further strengthen our presence in UK and EU markets.
Described by the World’s Leading Patent Professionals Guide, IAM Patent 1000 as a “star performer” Nick joined Boult Wade Tennant in 1991 before being promoted to Partner in 1995. Between 2011 and 2014 he acted as Managing Partner and in 2007 was appointed Head of the award-winning High Tech and Electrical Group.
Commenting on his appointment, Nick said: “I am delighted to have been elected Senior Partner. My priority is to nurture the collegial culture that continues to distinguish Boult Wade Tennant from competitors. We will focus on the growth and development of the firm. This is a very exciting time for Boult Wade Tennant as we are poised to capitalise on international opportunities in light of Brexit, both in recruiting additional staff and in our infrastructure.”
Welcoming Nick to the role Managing Partner, John Wallace commented: “Nick has played a pivotal role in the development and success of Boult Wade Tennant over the past 26 years. I look forward to working alongside him to deliver on our promise of providing exceptional service and advice to our clients.
I would also like to thank Claire for her unwavering commitment. Claire has been an inspirational Senior Partner and her passion, drive and dedication have been instrumental in the success of the firm.”
