After completing a law degree and particularly enjoying the IP module, I met a trade mark examiner who worked at the UKIPO who suggested I become a trade mark attorney. The rest is history!

I re-joined Boult following two years in Sydney spent working for one of Australia’s largest intellectual property firms. I had previously worked at Boult upon qualification.

My work is largely focused on trade mark prosecution, including advising clients in relation to a wide variety of trade mark matters from the selection of a new trade mark through to the filing of trade mark applications and the enforcement of trade mark rights against third parties. The variety of clients is great, and we work with businesses large and small and in every industry sector. I work with clients across the media and entertainment, fashion and leisure industries on a wide range of UK, European and international trade mark portfolios. I love it when I walk past a high-street brand that we helped register or have worked with. It’s a great feeling.

Recent experience

Assisting a large media group on strategic commercial issues, managing its large trade mark portfolio with a recent focus on clearing, filing and then protecting its expanding media offering, including a new set of services offered via an app.

Assisting a multinational automotive company with worldwide searching assignments, advising as to strategy, filing and prosecuting applications in multiple countries.

Assisting a digital automotive supplier with managing its growing trade mark portfolio following a merger and subsequent takeover of several smaller companies. This included prosecuting applications in multiple countries and watching its numerous marks across the world for new filings made by third parties that may cross into its interests.
