I am a Patent Assistant at Boult and assist with the preparation, filing and prosecution of patent applications in the UK, Europe and worldwide. I also assist with European oppositions and freedom to operate (FTO) analysis. I work on a wide variety of life science technologies and enjoy learning about the latest advances in biotechnology directly from inventors.
Prior to joining the firm, I graduated from the University of Cambridge, obtaining BA and MSci degrees in Natural Sciences. My BA project focused on the analysis of surface receptors of trypanosomes and my MSci project concentrated on the use of reverse genetics to investigate the role of phase separation in rotavirus replication.
I came across the patent profession while I was at university and recognised it as a career where I could continue to pursue my scientific interests outside of research and academia. After participating in the firm’s vacation scheme, I decided that I wanted to pursue a role as a Patent Attorney.
