Qualifications
  • DPhil
  • MEng Engineering Science, University of Oxford

I joined Boult in 2023, after completing my undergraduate degree in Engineering Science and then a doctorate (DPhil) in Biomedical Engineering.

My DPhil was on the subject of targeted drug delivery to solid tumours, during which I worked with clinicians, chemists, and physicists in a multi-disciplinary lab. Alongside the non-negligible amount of pipetting(!) that came with the research project, I also taught undergraduates topics across civil and mechanical engineering including structural analysis, mechanics of materials, vibrations and heat transfer.

I really enjoyed the variety presented by working with researchers from different disciplines and teaching undergraduates engineering. A career in the patent profession seemed a good choice for me and now I am lucky enough to work with inventors across a number of different fields; every day is unique!

Recent experience

Assisting with patent prosecution before the UKIPO for a large manufacturing company.

Drafting and filing patent applications for clients.

Working with an early-stage start-up to prepare their first UK and International patent applications.

Presenting ‘Lunchtime Learning’ Webinars for Anti-Copying in Design (ACID) on Patents and Registered Designs

Attending Everything Electric and London Packaging Week at the Excel London
