After completing a DPhil in Host Guest Chemistry, I considered career paths which could make use of my technical and language skills. Patents was an excellent fit for my science background and fluency in French and German.
I joined Boult after gaining experience in private practice and in-house. While in-house, I had the opportunity to work extensively alongside inventors, as well as senior management on patent assignments. That exposure to the client-side of patent law proved a valuable foundation for my career with Boult.
I now work as a European Patent Attorney and Chartered Patent Attorney. I am highly experienced in the filing and prosecution of patent applications in the chemical field, including general organic chemistry, polymers, catalysts, nutritional compositions and lithium-ion batteries. Much of my work is focused on patent prosecution, particularly on applications relating to nutritional products, plastics and small molecules. I also represent clients in opposition and limitation proceedings at the European Patent Office.
