Qualifications
  • Chartered Trade Mark Attorney
  • Professional Certificate in Trade Mark Practice, Nottingham Trent University
  • Certificate in Trade Mark Law and Practice, Queen Mary University of London
  • Graduate Diploma in Law, BPP University
  • BA (Hons) Philosophy and Politics, University of York

After graduating from university and completing the Graduate Diploma in Law, I secured an internship at an IP firm. That internship was my first encounter with trade mark law and practice. I thoroughly enjoyed the internship and was delighted when I was subsequently offered a full-time position as a Paralegal – and from that moment, I never looked back.

I particularly enjoy the varied nature of my work, with exposure to both contentious and non-contentious matters. I regularly support brands and business on trade mark portfolio requirements both in the UK and worldwide. The varied nature of the role allows me to apply and hone a broad set of skills, which makes every day different.

I am highly experienced at advising on trade mark registry disputes, including opposition, revocation and invalidity actions both in the UK and in foreign territories. I am well-versed in drafting statements of case, preparing evidence, drafting submissions and assisting with settlement negotiations. It’s a complex but highly rewarding process which I enjoy a great deal.

Recent experience

Acting in relation to a UDRP domain name dispute before The WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center wherein we were able to secure the transfer of an infringing domain name that was being used for the purposes of phishing.

Assisting a chemical and industrial manufacturer with its large and growing trade mark portfolio, with a recent focus on protecting the client’s trade marks in China (which has included filing and prosecuting trade mark applications and managing several appeals), and managing its watching service.

Acting for a finance multinational on the enforcement of its rights in its key brands in the United Kingdom, including advising on, filing and managing several UK oppositions and revocation actions and handling settlement negotiations.

Assisting a telephonic company in connection with opposition proceedings in several jurisdictions.

Assisting the charity Love for Little Bears Foundation to secure trade mark registrations for its key brands on a pro bono basis.
