I joined Boult after completing a PhD in Life Sciences (Biochemistry) to help innovative companies protect their technology.

I work closely with a diverse range of clients, providing strategic advice relating to their patent portfolio. I particularly enjoy gaining an in-depth knowledge of my clients’ products, services and in-house developments to spot areas for future patent filings.

I have experience in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications across a wide range of technical areas including therapeutic molecules, diagnostic methods and devices, medical uses, combination therapies, vaccines and nucleic acid synthesis and sequencing. I find interacting with the inventors to ensure every angle of a new invention is considered and protected particularly enjoyable.

I have worked on patent filing and prosecution in 50+ countries. This insight allows me to advise my clients as to the best approach for obtaining patent protection for technologies which might be difficult to protect in view of restrictive local patent laws. These inventions include diagnostic and treatment methods, combination therapies, new therapeutic effects and crystalline formulations of compounds.

My expertise covers accelerating prosecution of patent applications in different jurisdictions around the world, including Australia, Brazil, Europe, Japan and the United States of America, with a view to obtaining a granted patent of commercial relevance as soon as possible. I take great satisfaction in achieving the best possible outcome for my client.

Recent experience

Successfully securing patent protection for medicinal products on accelerated basis in many jurisdictions.

Delivering “IP crash courses” for scientists employed by start-up clients.

Guiding clients in the management of complex patent portfolios with European and foreign assets.
