We are delighted to announce that we have today appointed three new Partners: Rachel Conroy, James Legg and Joanna Peak. Their promotion recognises the contribution that each of these experienced attorneys have made to the firm. Their appointment marks the continuing success and expansion at Boult Wade Tennant – the only UK firm to be awarded tier one status for the past eleven years in both patent and trade mark prosecution categories by MIP and Legal 500.
Based in two of the firm’s offices, the new partners are from two practices and reflect the depth and breadth of the firm’s capability in these groups. The new partners‘ practices cover trade mark opposition and disputes, portfolio management, searching and brand clearance as well as patent matters relating to antibodies, biochemistry, diagnostic assays, stem cell technology, and molecular biology.
Two of the three attorneys trained at the firm, a further indication that our strategy of nurturing home grown talent is successful. Furthermore, this year’s appointments mark a continuation in the female representation amongst new partners demonstrating the firm’s commitment to achieving its business objective of greater gender diversity.
Senior Partner, Claire Baldock commented: “Each new partner has already made their mark through the quality of their technical know-how, helping to deliver the firm’s strategy and the first rate client service they consistently offer. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate them and I am sure we all look forward to working together as they develop their careers at Boult Wade Tennant.“
John Wallace, Managing Partner, stated: “The demographic makeup of practice groups is constantly evolving. The recent appointments are evidence of our commitment to investing in our staff to ensure that our clients continue to receive exceptional IP advice and exceptional service”.
Rachel Conroy, UK and European Trade Mark Attorney, has extensive experience in searching, selecting, filing and prosecution of trade marks, as well as contentious trade mark matters. Rachel comments: “I am thrilled to be appointed Partner and am excited to continue to build on the success of the Trade Mark and Domain Names Group.” Biotechnology and Life Sciences Patent Attorney James Legg is “delighted” to step into the role of Partner. He brings a wealth of experience of acting for both large multinational conglomerates and small start-ups. Joanna Peak, fellow attorney within this group, has extensive experience of representing clients before the UK and European Patent Offices. When asked about her new position, Joanna said “I am excited about the new challenges this role will bring and will strive to continue delivering the highest standard of advice and service to our clients.”
